I made this for some friends last week, from a recipe I found online. The lazy man's version of chicken cordon bleu. It was delicious! The recipe calls for
8 chicken breast halves, but I only fit 4 or 5 in the pan so maybe they meant smaller ones.
8 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
8 slices of ham
8 slices of swiss cheese
1 can (10.75 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup of white wine (I used Chardonnay)
1 TSP salt
1 TSP garlic powder
1 TSP ground black pepper
1 (6 oz) package herb-seasoned dry bread stuffing mix
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
2. Place chicken breasts in a lightly greased 9x13" baking dish. Lay a ham slice, then a cheese slice on top of each chicken breast.
3. In a medium bowl combine soup, sour cream, wine, garlic powder, salt & pepper. Mix well and pour over chicken/ham/cheese. Top it all with the dry stuffing mix (crush it up a little as you sprinkle it over.)
4. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through.
